On the morning of May 9th, the School-Enterprise Dialogue, “Building the ‘Belt and Road Initiative Academy’ ”, held by the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Commerce was held at ZIME. Huang Daopin, the Party Committee Secretary of ZIME, Tao Yu, the director of International Exchange and Cooperation Management Center, were invited to participate in this event. More than 100 representatives from 40 universities and 56 enterprises across the province gathered around to discuss a new model of school-enterprise cooperation and explore the “Going Out” to build a “Silk Road Academy” along with the countries which join the “Belt and Road Initiative”( also abbreviated as B&R).

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education Ding Tianle and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce Hu Weikang delivered speeches respectively.

Deputy Director Ding Tianle introduced Zhejiang Education's achievements and highlights in the process of actively integrating the B&R from five aspects: expanding the B&R circle of friends, cultivating B&R national students, setting up the overseas educational institutions, conducting regional and national research, and organizing various of training for B&R. Deputy Director Hu Weikang pointed out that the feeble during the carrying out transnational business processes of our province’s enterprises and the necessity of school-enterprise cooperation and exploring the “Going out” to build a “Silk Road Academy” along with the countries which join the B&R. Both leaders have expressed their ardent hopes by leveraging the advantages of Zhejiang, and building a “One Belt, One Road” international talent training platform through the cooperation among governments, institutions, intermediaries, and enterprises. It is hoped that such a platform can effectively alleviate the problems of the current “going out” of Zhejiang enterprises and the weak ability of transnational management, and break through the bottleneck of “going out” international talents.

At the meeting, a series of cooperation agreements were also signed. Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education Ding Tianle and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce Hu Weikang signed Provincial Department of Education, Provincial Department of Commerce, cooperated to build a Memorandum of Understanding on the “ ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ Silk Road Academy”; Huang Daoping, Party Secretary of Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Chen Dequan, Dean of Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade, Xiao Qijing, Party Secretary of Holley group Limited by Share Ltd also signed a letter of intent for the cooperation of “Silk Road Academy”. This is the first step of our 2019 in the direction of international exchange and cooperation, and it is also a new measure for our school to strengthen the “Belt and Road Initiative” school-enterprise cooperation.

The universities and enterprises in the province participated in the dialogue and conducted on-the-spot exchanges and discussions after the meeting. The atmosphere was warm and harmonious. The school and enterprise conducted in-depth discussions on their own characteristics, resource advantages, and personnel training. A number of cooperation intentions have achieved good communication results.
