To promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, actively build a platform for exchanges between Chinese and foreign students, and further enrich campus cultural life, the School of International Education organized a unique "Warm Winter Dumpling Festival" at the staff canteen on December 20th (the day before the Winter Solstice). Tao Yu, Dean of the School of International Education, attended the event, and representatives of teachers, all international students, and Chinese students gathered together to make and eat dumplings, experiencing the traditional customs of the Winter Solstice.

At the beginning of the event, the atmosphere was lively and cheerful. The teachers first patiently explained the basic skills and techniques of making dumplings to everyone, and Dean Tao Yu personally demonstrated for the international students. Everyone divided the work in an orderly manner, with some responsible for filling and others focusing on wrapping. They worked together with great enthusiasm. Under the careful shaping of their skillful hands, the dumplings took on a variety of creative shapes. Some resembled crescent moons, exuding a gentle beauty; others looked like small boats, as if ready to set sail; and still others were like ingots, symbolizing auspiciousness and wealth... These dumplings of various shapes were not only delicious but also symbols of cultural integration and the crystallization of creativity.

Next came the tasting session. There were multiple choices of dumpling flavors and a variety of cooking methods. The students savored the dumplings they had made by hand, sharing their joy with each other. For the international students who had traveled thousands of miles to study in China, this event undoubtedly brought them warmth and comfort from the School of International Education. In the cold winter, they deeply felt the care and protection of a family-like environment.

This event was of great significance. Through making dumplings, the students not only personally experienced the unique charm of Chinese culinary culture but also built a bridge for in-depth exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers and students. Through hands-on practice, it is believed that the international students could deeply feel the sincere concern of the school. This has undoubtedly increased the widespread dissemination of Chinese excellent traditional culture, is conducive to further promoting cultural exchanges and integration, and thus promotes the harmonious coexistence and prosperity of diverse cultures on the fertile soil of ZUME.
