Vice President Zhu Runye Visits International Students' Dormitory at School of International Education

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the basic situation of international students at our university and to grasp the management system and framework for these students, Vice President Zhu Runye visited the international students' dormitory at the School of International Education on December 10th and held a special on-site meeting on foreign-related safety. Dean Tao Yu, Party Branch Secretary Gao Shuiqin, and other relevant personnel attended the meeting.

Vice President Zhu Runye carefully inspected various areas such as the students' activity room, kitchen, and living quarters, providing specific guidance on how to improve these spaces. During a discussion session, Vice President Zhu had a warm conversation with Burmese students, asking questions like, "Are you comfortable living in China?", "How do you usually keep in touch with your family?", and "Can you adapt to the pace of study?" Every question reflected his care and concern for the students. A representative of the Burmese students, Aung Kyaw Moe, expressed his gratitude for the personal visit from the university leadership and promised to lead the students to study harder and live up to the expectations of the leaders and teachers.

In the subsequent special on-site meeting on foreign-related safety, Vice President Zhu Runye listened attentively to the report on the safety inspection plan for international students at the School of International Education. He inquired in detail about the students' family, financial, and academic situations. Vice President Zhu emphasized that international students are an important part of the university's student body and that their daily needs for study and life must be well taken care of. As their guides and mentors, the roles of class teachers and counselors are crucial. They should regularly talk with the students to keep track of their physical and mental health and be aware of their conditions. Additionally, organizing cultural and sports activities regularly is important to enrich their extracurricular life. Vice President Zhu stressed the need to enhance crisis intervention awareness, strengthen safety management, and conduct thorough safety inspections of the students' dormitories. Any potential risks should be carefully assessed and addressed promptly to ensure zero safety incidents.

Moving forward, the School of International Education will follow Vice President Zhu Runye's instructions, actively carry out relevant work, identify and address any shortcomings, and eliminate potential hazards to ensure the smooth operation of the college's daily teaching and work.
